The Party Wall etc. Act 1996 Explained
If you intend to carry out building work which involves excavating near a neighbour's property, working on an existing party wall, or building on the boundary line, you must comply with the Party Wall Act. Failure to serve valid notice can result in an injunction halting your project.
Notices Required
Section 1 (Line of Junction), Section 2 (Party Structure), and Section 6 (Excavation) notices require 1 to 2 months prior warning depending on the works.
